Tenants welcome BLB’s interface initiative

WAKISO-Residents on Buganda Kingdom land have welcomed the initiative by Buganda Land Board of inviting all tenants to come and ensure that their land-registration documents are in order.

Dubbed the Client Interface Month, the initiative is aimed at harmonizing bibanja and lease ownership on Buganda kingdom land.

According to Muddu Geoffrey, a resident of Nabweru in Nansansa, this is a very timely initiative especially when some people have resurrected the idea of abolishing Mailo Land.

BLB’s Interface Month 2023 to bridge gap between Land Board and clients

KCCA Boss, Buganda Land Board CEO discuss Smart City agenda

Kampala, (UG): The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Ms Dorothy Kisaka, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the CEO of Buganda Land Board (BLB), Omuk. Simon Kaboggoza, to meet and discuss strategies for organized development as part of the city’s ambitious Smart City Agenda. The meeting which included other officials from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Ministry of Lands, and the Kampala Land Board was held at Bulange-Mengo on Wednesday.

How Buganda Land Board, RDC blocked eviction of 4000 Buikwe residents

Buganda Land Board, together with the RDC of Buikwe Hajjat Hawa Ndege, has moved to block an eviction of over 4000 people in Buikwe district.

 

The residents of Busagazi parish in Najja sub-county-Buikwe district have been living in fear of being evicted after unscrupulous people calling themselves agents of the Namasole of Buganda gave them an ultimatum to get off the land which measures over 2 square miles.
The unscrupulous people have been using fraudulent titles to intimidate residents and extort busuulu plus other monetary dues from them.

UNDP seeks partnership with BLB to eliminate slums and create smart cities in Uganda

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) together with the Buganda Land Board (BLB) are seeking a partnership that will among others seek to eliminate slums and create smart cities in the country.

This was revealed on Thursday, July 06, during the UNDP workshop organized under the theme “sense-making workshop on frontier challenges for smart cities” at Protea Hotel Entebbe at the invitation of the UNDP Country Representative Ms Elsie Attafuah.
