Who we are

Buganda Land Board was established to manage that part of estate returned to the Kabaka of Buganda under the Traditional Rulers Restitution of Assets and Properties Act. CAP 247 Laws of Uganda. A 350sq mile estate together with the other properties returned to the Kabaka was handed over to Buganda Land Board. Buganda Land Board therefore manages this land by way of encouraging residents to regularize their tenancy under the existing land laws of Uganda.

Mr.Kyewalabye David Male
Executive Secritary

A graduate of Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Makerere University Kampala, Mr.Kyewalabye David Male started work in 1992 Uganda High Court Library as expert Librarian on the British High Commission funded re-organisation of the library.

He joined Ndejje University as Chief University Librarian, later joining Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation (BUCADEF) an NGO of Buganda Kingdom were he rose to the  level of  Chief  Executive Officer. During his service at BUCADEF, he managed Donor funds from the following; USAID-ACDI/VOCA PL-480 Title II Program Food Security Project,  The Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Project  (NECDP) funded  by World Bank through the Ministry of Health as Authorised Representative for BUCADEF, Global Fund Project on Prevention and Treatment of Malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS, USAID-ACDI/VOCA PL-480 Title Programme funded 90km Rural Feeder Roads Rehabilitation Project  as  Project Coordinator, Micro-Credit Project funded by McKnight Foundation and Water and Sanitation Projects funded by Water Aid Uganda a branch of Water Aid UK.

He has a Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, Masters degree in Human Resources Management (dissertation stage) from UMI-Uganda and Awarded a Master of Science degree Management and Implementation of Development Project from Manchester University United Kingdom.  Mr. Kyewalabye has vast experience in management and leadership for over 12 years.

                                                                                                                                           Finance and Administration Manager


Mr.Mujabi Martin Kuteesa joined BLB in November, 2005. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University Kampala, he has a Diploma in Business Studies from Makerere University Business School and a Certificate in Project Planning and Management. He is currently pursing a Masters in Business Administration at Ndejje University.




Mr. Kizito Bashir Juma
Chief Surveyor

Mr. Kizito joined BLB in October 2009 as chief surveyor.
Has been in private practice since 2003 working with MBK Surveyors Ltd till 2007 when he joined Nakaseke District Local Government as Staff Surveyor.

Previously he worked as a District Staff Surveyor, Nakaseke District.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying (Hons) of Makerere University,
a Diploma in Law of the Law Development Centre.

                                                                                                  Ms. Sarah Namugga Kasule
                                                                                                                                                             ICT Manager
                                                            

Ms. Sarah Namugga Kasule joined BLB in August 2004 from Standard Chartered Bank where she was a Banking Officer. She started in BLB as an I.T Officer and she is currently the ICT Manager.

A graduate of Economics from Makerere University Kampala, she holds a Diploma in Project Planning and Management, A Diploma in Information and Communications Technology from Uganda Management Institute. She has attained Computer, Customer care and Management skills from the various trainings attended. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Information System at Uganda Martyrs University-Nkozi




   Mrs.Kaddu Lillian
   Legal Manager

Mrs.Kaddu Lillian joined BLB in October, 2007 from the Centre for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution ( CADER) where she held the position of Registrar. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honors LLB (Hons) from Makerere University Kampala. She also posses a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.She has attended several certificate courses in arbitration and alternative Dispute Resolution including those centering on amicable resolution of Land disputes. She holds a United Nations Institute of Training and Research Certificate in International Commercial Arbitration.

                                                                                                                                                                     Customer Care Manager

Ms.Margaret Miiro Ms.Margaret Miiro joined BLB from Collin Hotel-Mukono where she was a Guest Relations Personnel.  She has a Bachelors degree in Arts, with subjects in organizational studies and communication skills. She has trained in Customer Care techniques with DACUM Company and a Certificate in First Aid training from Red Cross International.






 Mr.Mulindwa Joseph
 Consultant

Mr.Mulindwa Joseph joined BLB in 2004 as a Consultant to the Land Advisory Department with the main purpose of establishing a Land Fund for the Kingdom of Buganda in order to discourage Kabaka’s subjects from irresponsibly disposing off their valuable land.He holds a B.Sc. (Stat) from Makerere University Kampala.
He worked with Shell Uganda Ltd for 14 years, by the time he resigned from Shell, he was the Chief Internal Auditor. He attended many management courses in UK, Italy, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Tanzania, South Africa and Kenya.In 1998, he was Chairman LC V Rakai District and in 2001, he achieved the Best Practice Award in Good Governance in the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa, in Windhoek, Namibia.

Mr.Ssonko Lamech Musoke has a Diploma in Accounting from Namasuba College of Commerce. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Ndejje  University.

 Mr. Katumba Segawa Saul
Katumba George Saul Segawa joined BLB in 2009. A holder of a Masters'degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology of Makerere University, he has served in different managerial portfolios in International organisations as well as the education sector.
The post graduate employment started with the European Union micro projects program as an officer in charge of Luwero traingle program, later joining WaterAid, an international NGO providing water and sanitation for communities.
For the past 10 years, he has been associated with Buganda Kingdom founded organisations especially CBS radio and BUCADEF, providing support mainly in areas of strategic program development. Has a lot of experience in organisational development and has helped a number of organisations transform into competent entities.

Mrs. Rehema Navuma.W.

She joined BLB in April 2008 from Luweero District Council where she was Ag. Physical Planner for Luweero Town Council, and is now currently the Physical Planner/ Cartographer

A graduate from Makerere University Kampala, she holds a Diploma in Computer Science from Kyambogo University, a Degree in Physical and Regional Planning from Makerere University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Makerere University Business School.

 Ms. Sarah Nakalema
Assistant Finance and Administration Manager       
 
She joined Buganda Land Board as an Assistant Finance and Administration Manager.
She has a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from
Kyambogo University and a Uganda Diploma in Business Studies
from Makerere University Business School.
 
She has worked with Buganda Cultural and Development
Foundation (BUCADEF) as an Assistant Accountant and then Accountant.

                                                                                  Debt Collector                                                                        

Mr. David Kasirye joined BLB in January, 2004 as a Finance and Administration Officer. He had previously worked in various positions in the then Coffee Marketing Board, Western Highland Creameries and Nsamba Coffee Works Ltd.


He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Makerere University Kampala.

Front Office Assistant


Ms. Nakayiza joined BLB in 2007 as a Secretary and later in November 2008 was appointed the Front Desk Officer.

Mr. Nsubuga has a Bachelors degree in Business Computing from Makerere University Kampala.

He joined Buganda Land Board in 2008 after working as an Administrator with Buganda Tents and Chairs Office in Bulange which he joined from Computer hardware maintenance & software developer – Goodlife ITC Centre Ltd, Colline House, Kampala.



                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      


Mr. Matovu Moses         

 Property Inspector

Matovu Moses joined BLB in October, 2009. He holds a Master of Education in Information and Communication Technology from Makerere University, BA (Educ), MUK, Certificate in Public Administration and Management. Matovu started work as teacher at Kampala Students’ Centre in 2003, Grace High School in 2006-2007 as a teacher and Head Luganda and History Department respectively.

In 2008 he joined Buganda Kingodm Ministry of Education and Sports as Personal Assistant to the Minister and Kabaka’s Education Fund Manager. He is a social science research expert, excellent translator of Luganda and English and very competent in project proposal writing and instructional designing.

He has trained in instructional design, E-Learning and Training, management Information Systems for schools and organisations, Research Methodologies. He has carried out research in “The effect of ICT on Management of Students’ Academic Affairs”Staff/Graduate Research output in Makerere University and he has attended many workshops such as Capacity building for teachers in Buganda school, Forum on local philanthropy development in Uganda,Translate @thon event (Translation of Mozilla Firefox into Luganda), Developng instructional materials for a distance learner, National Education Graduate Students’ Conference: The dissemination of Research Findings.

                                                                                                                                                              Property Inspector

Ms Namaganda Olivia joined BLB in March 2009 as a support staff and later on in October 2009 on appointment as Property Inspector.

Before joining BLB Olivia worked with Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation where she worked for a period of 5 years as Project Officer and Coordinator of health related projects. While in BUCADEF Olivia designed, implemented, managed, monitored, and evaluated rural development projects including HIV/AIDs, Integrated Reproductive Health, Water and sanitation, among others.

Olivia is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Management from Makerere University Kampala with a lot of experience in project designing and management.

 

 Ms. Nakayenga Jane Daniella

 Senior  Property Inspector                                                                                                                  

 Daniella joined BLB in 2009 as a Senior Property Inspector.
A graduate of Urban Planning from Makerere University Kampala,
she worked with World Vision as a Technical Associate for Kibiga-Mulagi Area Development Program and later in 2006 as a Child Sponsorship Facilitator in the same project.

Daniella also   with JOMAYI Property Consultants as Development Planner.

                                                                                                                                                                          Secretary

Ms. Ruth.N.Waggwa started working BLB in November, 2006 as a Secretary to the Executive Secretary of BLB. Before then, she worked in the then Uganda Commercial Bank and later on the closed Greenland Bank.
 
She has Certificates in Shorthand, Typing, C from the then Nakawa Business College, Pitman and Essami.







Mr. Kato Iga
Surveillance Officer

Mr. Kato Iga joined BLB in 2007. He previously worked with Century Bottling Company as the Stores Supervisor and later he became the Purchasing Officer.
 
He holds a Diploma from UCC Kabale, a business College affiliated to Makerere University Business School.

                                                                                                                                                                     Surveillance Officer

Ms. Catherine Nagawa joined BLB in 2007 from BUCADEF where she worked as a Hygiene Promoter and Educator. She has a Certificate in Education and currently pursuing a Diploma in Education from Uganda Marty’s University in Nkozi.
 
Ms.Kasozi Sophy Nakasi joined BLB in October, 2007. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Computing from Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
 
She has attained several certificate courses in Computer, Accounting, Marketing, Business communication skills, Human Resources Management and Project Planning.




Ms. Bukirwa Vicky
Property Inspector

Ms. Bukirwa Vicky joined BLB in October, 2007 from BUCADEF where she worked as a Field Extension Officer.
 
She has a Bachelors degree in Physical Planning from Makerere University Kampala, she has a Certificate in Scouting.
 
She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Land use planning from Ndejje University.

Ms.Nakigudde Sarah joined BLB in October, 2007 from Aids Information Centre where she worked as a Office Administrator.

She has a Diploma in Business Studies from YMCA-Kampala, a Certificate in Customer Care, Front Desk Management and Change in Management.

Mr.Kamome joined BLB in 2007 as an Estates Assistant.
He has a Bachelors Degree in Environment Management from Makerere University Kampala.
He has a Certificate in Project proposal Writing and Resources Mobilisation from Makerere University Kampala.
 
He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Environment and Natural Resources from Makerere University.

Ms Namukasa Ruth Muliira joined BLB in October, 2009 as a Property Inspector.
She was working as a Students’ Counselor at Mt. St Henry’s Mukono and as cashier of Bibanja Registration project of BLB in Nansana.
